Orthodontic Specialist Care for Northern Ireland

Originally from Enniskillen Paul moved to the Northwest in 1996 after he qualified as a dentist from Queens University Belfast. 

Paul’s first job after qualification was as a general dentist practitioner in Ormsby’s Dental Practice Strabane where he worked until 1998 before taking up a maxillo-facial surgery post in Altnagelvin Hospital.

During his time in Altnagelvin, and subsequently the Royal Victoria and Ulster hospitals, Paul gained invaluable experience in the treatment of both routine and emergency surgical patients and this training still aids him in the treatment of his patients today.

Paul moved to Dorchester in 2000 to commence his orthodontic training which he completed in 2003 being awarded both an M Orth and MSc in Orthodontics. These qualifications allowed Paul to extend his registration with the General Dental Council and use the restricted title- Specialist in orthodontics.

Paul returned to the Northwest in 2003 and initially worked as an associate orthodontist in a well respected practice before setting up Northwest Orthodontics in 2007. Since then Paul has been responsible for the care and treatment of 1000’s of patients in the Northwest area and he continues to strive to deliver the best possible results for everyone under his care.

Paul is an active member of a number of professional orthodontic organisations including the British Orthodontic Society and the Northern Ireland Orthodontic Group. He has presented to the Irish Association of Aesthetic Dentistry on the management of complex orthodontic/restorative cases and this is an area which Paul has developed a keen interest in over the course of his career.

Paul is extremely committed to continuing professional development and he regularly attends training courses to ensure his patients get the most up to date treatments. He has extensive experience in both standard and cosmetic appliances and he is a certified Invisalign provider.
